I once heard it said that in our day we have lost sight of the "once for all" dimensions of life. Certainly the sacrifice of Christ is one of those dimensions. It has happened "once for all" and does not have to be repeated. This all makes me think of the U.S. Post Office and their policy of package deliveries. Unlike the UPS people who will gladly leave a package in the garage or at the doorstep, the postal people leave you a little claim check if you're not home when they bring a package, asking you to come down to the post office and there claim your package.
