I haven't heard anybody come...

I haven't heard anybody come to the end of their life and say that they wished they had spent more time holding grudges or refusing to forgive others. At least in my experience, people have said just the opposite. They wish they had been more forgiving. There is a scene in Disney's The Lion King where Simba, the story's hero, is crippled by his belief that he had caused his father's death. This belief prevents him from taking his rightful place in the circle of life. The ape who serves as a priestly figure in the story hits Simba with a stick a couple of times, and an annoyed Simba asks why the ape keeps hitting him. The priestly ape responds, "What does it matter? It's in the past." Seven times, or 77 times, it's in the past. Our focus needs to be on the present and future of our relationships.
