I grew up in a small mountain town in Appalachia. My father was a railroad clerk. He was faithful to his church, his family, and his job. He would be in church every Sunday except those times when there was dissension in the ranks. He just couldn't take it when the all too often "church fight" would break out. He would stay away until the air cleared. Usually the fight was over the minister. When the minister had originally come to the church he had been a godsend, but now that they wanted to change ministers, his coming was anything else.
