I enjoy the comic strip Andy Capp. Andy is a chronically unemployed cockney fellow who spends his days playing soccer and his nights at the corner pub. Andy drives his wife Flo crazy with his antics. In one episode Andy is pacing the floor while Flo stands there with her arms crossed. Finally she breaks the silence saying: "Three whole days without speaking. This is ridiculous. I'm sorry I acted the way I did. You were right," she says.
Andy hugs her and says, "Okay, friends." In the next frame Andy is going out to play soccer with one of his buddies who says to him, "I 'eard that Andy. It takes a good woman to apologize when she is wrong." As they walk on Andy replies, "It takes a better one to apologize when she's not."
Flo seems to have grasped the truth that a relationship is more important than needing fixing blame. It is a truth that Jesus understood about how God feels toward us.
