How long a time lies...
Illustration
"How long a time lies in one little word."
So long a time in each of these words. Pick yours. "This" (bread); "body" (a sacrifice); "remembrance" (recapitulate); "proclaim" (lived testimony). And these little words have wrapped themselves around the world and buried their meanings in human life until, in a moment of reverie, we can think of the whole wide world as a sacrament to God.
-- Shakespeare, "Richard II," Act 1, sc 3.
