The high school swim team...
The high school swim team of State College, Pennsylvania, is both hated and respected in Western Pennsylvania. They are a nationally ranked program, dominant at district and state meets and are famous for swimming two practices a day of up to 10,000 yards each, making it difficult for their swimmers to do much else away from the pool.
As you might expect, the other schools in the area don't like to compete against State College. Opposing teams have been heard referring to State College swimmers as "fanatics," "machines," and even "genetic mutations."
