Helen Keller was an inspiration to a previous generation. Born in 1880, and living until 1968, she was probably the most alive and aware person in the twentieth century. This had to be a difficult achievement, because she was blind and deaf from the age of two. Today, we would say she is "hearing and visually impaired." Ultimately, she challenges us.
