He was all of seven years old and was called "Jimmy" though his full name was Jameston Wardlow Smith. He went with his family every Sunday to Saint James Episcopal Church in their small town. Many of Jimmy's second-grade school friends went to the same church and everyone in their small neighborhood knew everyone else. Jimmy's Sunday school teacher was Miss Aunnie who lived just down the block. Sitting out on her front porch one pleasant evening and reading the newspaper, Miss Aunnie saw Jimmy on the sidewalk a full block away.
