Handling rejection
Commentary
Rejection can be so subversive of one's self-confidence as to threaten a person's equilibrium. Or we may react in self-defense to reject others. These deeper effects of rejection may deserve attention from a professional counselor or, at least, patient sharing and guidance from an insightful friend. The lessons today are no substitute for modern psychological understanding, but they make a distinctive contribution that illustrates the role of religious faith.
