Grandfather was a self-taught music man, much in demand for old-time barn dances. When the years began to take their toll on his tired body, he became content to sit in the swing on the front porch and play his harmonica. It pleased him very much when, as a small boy, I would visit him with my little plastic harmonica and try to emulate him as he played.
