George is an aging grain...

George is an aging grain farmer who belongs to a church I once served. He and his wife have three children. The eldest are perfectly normal, adult sons who help in the family business. Their third child and only daughter came late in life. She has Down's Syndrome. Marsha is in her mid-20s. She has always lived with her parents. I suspect she will do that as long as their health is good.
One Sunday morning, George removed any doubt I had about any disappointment his daughter might have caused him. With tears in his eyes and a frog in his throat, he said, "I wish everyone had the opportunity to raise a special child like Marsha. It has been wonderful. God really blessed us with her."
My how God can surprise us with good things at any age and under the most unexpected circumstances.
