So many definitions have been given for faith it seems impossible to talk or write about it without being misunderstood. However, we can limit ourselves in this discussion to the general theme set out in all three of our Scripture lessons -- the theme of faith in the sense of keeping faith, placing trust, offering commitment.
Sometimes we talk of the faith as if it were the content of what we believed. At other times we speak of it as some attitude we have toward God or act of believing.
