Even though the news was somewhat inevitable, it still came as a bit of a shock to the group. Charlie's wife had called the convener of the support group to tell him of Charlie's death. He had been quite a warrior against the cancer as it had invaded his body two times prior to this final one. He had also been a fervent believer in the benefits of belonging to this cancer support group. He had even taken a stint at being the convener for several months.
