Eighty-year-old John Quincy...
Illustration
Eighty-year-old John Quincy Adams was slowly making his way down one of the streets in his hometown Boston when suddenly a friend slapped him on the shoulder and asked: "Well, how's John Quincy Adams this morning?"
The old man smiled and told his old friend that he was doing fine but that the old tenement in which he lived was not doing so well. He told him of his bodily ills -- his failing eyes and generally run-down condition. In fact, things were so bad that he did not think that his body would last through the winter.
