Each of us have known...

Each of us have known them in our past and know them in our present, those we might call oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord. Mildred (aka Moomoo) is one such oak for me. At 91 she has seen enough of life that her roots are deeply planted and that gives her perspective and vision and hope. She bought a ten-
year passport to come to visit us on sabbatical in England, and each day she was up for breakfast and by the time I got home from walking the children to school the breakfast dishes were washed and dried and put away. Moomoo was sitting peacefully reading. Willing to bounce down a country lane in a Land Rover and sit by the children during evensong at the Cathedral, Moomoo finds goodness in all of God's creation. When people are in trouble she knows that a tin of chocolate chip cookies or an invitation to help her work in the garden is just what is needed. She is named a minister of God. -- Steffey Morrow
