John 2:13-22
During World War II, an American warship in the Pacific was transporting some wounded Japanese prisoners. The medical officer in charge took such excellent care of the prisoners that his fellow-officers protested. One of them said, "Why don't you just let them die the way they let our men die?" The medical officer replied, "I don't play by their rules. I am a Christian. The Japanese warlords tell their soldiers that all Americans are beasts. One day these prisoners will return to their country knowing they had been lied to.

Object: The object of the lesson is a gesture you will teach the children.

Note: The gesture used both hands. Hold both hands in front of you and make the thumbs-up sign with both hands with both thumbs pointing back at your chest. This is the “ME!” gesture. Then simply rotate your hands back so your thumbs are pointing straight up in the air, like two “OK” signs. This is the “US” gesture.
