During the Christmas rush on...

During the Christmas rush on Fifth Avenue in New York City one year, a magazine reporter, in preparing a feature story of Yuletide shoppers, trailed a mother and her four-year-old daughter. He noted the little girl kept looking down at the sidewalk.
"Why don't you look at the pretty windows, Gracie?" the mother asked as she watched her daughter staring down as they walked along the avenue.
"I'm looking for something," Gracie answered.
"What, in heaven's name, are you looking for?" the mother inquired.
