Do you remember the old TV show from the early days of television? It was on in the late afternoons, and it was called Queen for the Day. Each day, I believe, three women would tell their stories about the terrible things in their lives. Each story seemed more awful than the next. After each woman had told her story, the audience would vote and decide who would be queen.
Upon being elected, the woman would be showered with gifts, attention, and granted her wish whatever it was. Her life was repaired that day.
The next day there would be three more contestants and the audience's attention was drawn to three new women in new crises, yesterday's queen long forgotten.
Jesus was an exciting character who had even raised Lazarus from the dead. The people voted and made him "King for the day."
