In the darkest days of...

In the darkest days of South Africa's struggle for freedom from the tyranny of apartheid there were many black leaders who spent a lot of time in prison. Many were tortured. One of those leaders was T. Simon Farisani. While in prison he was beaten, harassed, exposed to electric shocks and burns. When he was finally released, he was told that his body had been so damaged that he would never have children. He had barely survived the ordeal. When asked how he could have survived such suffering he could only say that God had given him hope.
