Contrasts and opposites occur often in life -- light and dark, dry and wet, a shrub planted in a desert and a tree planted by running water. All opposites and contrasts are not the difference between good and evil. Many opposites and many contrasts point to the difference between good and better. Contrast a five-mile run without warming up and a five-mile run with proper warm up. Contrast a singing performance without warming up and a singing performance with sufficient warm up time.
