A church publishing house was selling a desk plaque with the words "Jesus, Jesus, only Jesus," written upon it. The plaque does indeed seem to give Jesus all the credit for salvation while neglecting God the Father. After the Battle of Gettysburg, Lincoln urged General Meade in a peremptory order to pursue Lee in his retreat, attack him, and with one bold stroke end the war. A friendly note came with it: "The order I enclose is not of record. If you succeed, you need not publish the order. If you fail, publish it. Then if you succeed, you will have all the credit of the movement.
