Choosing up sides at recess when playing a game at school was always a tense time. You might try to be noticed by moving around a little bit or having a look of eagerness that said, "Pick me." It was certain that you did not want to be the last one chosen. That was even worse than being on the opposite side from your friends. It was a relief to be chosen and not be the last one. Paul says in the Ephesians passage that we are chosen by God. That makes us special just because we have been chosen. We are chosen in Christ because God loves us and wants each one of us to be one of his kingdom.
