Choir tryouts were a nerve...

Choir tryouts were a nerve-racking experience for the students. The day the choir was
announced, Sandra sat with fingers crossed and legs that bounced to some unheard beat.
Mr. Jackman, the director, came into the room and began to read the names to his new
choir. Sandra's heart fell; her name had not been read. At the end of his recitation, Mr.
Jackman read four more names. These four were set aside for special duty and training.
They would be the four section leaders and as such would meet with Mr. Jackman each
morning for one hour in preparation for the choir practice after school.
