The call of God comes...

The call of God comes to his servants in many ways. Moses heard his through a burning bush; Ezekiel had a heavenly vision; the disciples were called directly by Christ; Paul saw a vision and heard the voice of Jesus; Billy Sunday was convicted by the hymns of street singers outside a saloon; and Peter Marshall by a near-death experience. Each minister on lay-person may be able to describe a personal encounter with God or the presence of Christ, but the importance of the call is not in its manner, but in its persuasive power.
A still, small voice comes through the wild,
Like a father consoling his fretful child,
Which banishes bitterness, wrath and fear,
Saying, man is distant, but God is near.
