Brittney says she did not go to church with her family much while growing up. In
elementary school, she began attending church because her friends' parents took her. Britt
admits that during those years she viewed the church as a social outlet and not so much
spiritual.
Her attitude changed in high school when, "I decided I was tired of faking the Christian thing." She stopped attending church and hanging out with her church friends. However, her friends kept calling her wanting to include her in their activities. Finally, she agreed to attend a Christian concert with her friends. After listening to one speaker after another talk about their faith, Brittney says it lit a fire within her. "I accepted the fact that I wasn't going to be just living for me now," she says. "I decided to commit myself to Jesus."
That was five years ago, and today Brittney leads a Bible study once a week on her college campus. She openly tells others about her journey to Christ. Her winning personality has even won over some skeptical classmates.
There comes a point in each of our lives when we must claim Jesus as our Lord and Savior. For some people that might take a while but when they arrive at that point there is no stopping them. Case in point is the disciple Thomas. He was unsure what to make of the reports that Jesus had arisen from the grave. He needed more time and proof. However, once he encountered the risen Lord and made his confession, "My Lord and my God!" there was no stopping him. Thomas is credited as starting the Christian church in India.
