The book of Lamentations laments...

Object:
The book of Lamentations laments the destruction of Jerusalem. The author had no
awareness of the message and hope of our Lord Jesus. With the hope of the Lord Jesus
his tune could have been changed to, "I Must Tell Jesus." In times of difficulty or sorrow,
I remember my mother singing.
I must tell Jesus all of my trials,
I can not bear these burdens alone.
In my distress he gladly will help me
He ever loves and cares for his own.
I must tell Jesus all of my troubles,
He is a kind compassionate friend.
If I but ask him, he will deliver.
Make of my troubles quickly an end.
-- Elisha Hoffmann, 1893
