Bonhoeffer and others in Germany...
Illustration
Bonhoeffer and others in Germany who did not go along with Hitler's plans to exterminate the Jews were rounded up and thrown in prison. Like Jeremiah, they were accused of discouraging the soldiers, being guilty of treason, and upsetting the common people. In a strange twist, the protestors were accused of being the ones who were seeking the people's harm, when in fact Bonhoeffer and others had the true welfare of all the people in their hearts. -- Schmitz
