The body lay ten feet into the alley. Still shaking, Marge stood under the street light. The officer turned to her. "What did you see?" Staring at the lifeless form, now covered by black plastic, Marge muttered, "I saw it all." "I need to have you tell me what happened," the officer said, as he prepared his pen on a writing tablet. Marge looked at him with fearful eyes. "I don't want to." Her whisper was barely audible. "There is going to be an inquiry," the officer explained. "How will they understand, if you don't report what you saw? They need to know the truth or someone will get the wrong idea of what happened here." After a few deep breaths, Marge regained some composure. "I don't want that to happen. I guess I have a responsibility, don't I? I mean, I was there." The officer began writing as Marge described the events which had just unfolded.
