Boaz and Ruth would have liked Marion McQuade. She was the West Virginia mother of 15 children who worked tirelessly until she succeeded in establishing a national Grandparent's Day in America. The first official Grandparent's Day was celebrated in 1973, a little late for Boaz and Ruth, but they still would have been proud. Grandparents are so proud and you can feel it in the simple listing of the generations that were born because of the union of Boaz and Ruth. There was Obed, the son; then, Jesse, the grandson; then, David, the great-grandson. And the buttons burst throughout the generations!
