The Bible study class had been together for over five years. They knew each other well and there was an acknowledgment that no questions were out of bounds. When they were studying a passage that dealt with death (and what happens after death), someone asked if it's true that there is a measurable loss of weight at the moment of death when the soul leaves the body. Some in the class agreed they had heard about such studies. There was a lot of discussion about the whole issue of death and the issues surrounding it.
