At a Bereavement Support meeting...

At a Bereavement Support meeting a new widow said, "I thought I understood what the death of a spouse was all about. I'd go up to my friends at the funeral home, after their spouse had died, and I'd say, 'I understand exactly what you're going through because my mother died last year.' I could never understand why my friends would look at me as if I didn't know what I was talking about. But now I know. No one can understand what it is like to have a spouse die until they experience it for themselves. No one can truly understand what it means to hope for the resurrection until they live that experience for themselves. If I've learned anything through the death of my husband, I've learned that my faith must be a living reality in my life because without it there is only darkness."
