Barry assumed that he would be the leader of the group. After all, the astronomy club was his idea, he took the initiative to get permission from the college administration to have such a group, sought out a faculty advisor, and advertised its first meeting.

When other interested students arrived, Barry took the floor and shared his dreams and visions for the group. This group would explore the solar system, planets, the moon, and much more. They also hoped, with the advisor's permission, to have occasional access to the college's planetarium.
