Attending a wedding dinner can be an uncomfortable feeling when a guest is trying to decide where to sit. Couples who are considerate of people's feelings and comfort level often assign their guests to a specific table and arrange name tags for all to wear. One never knows for sure in the first situation where reserved tables have been placed or where groups of friends have decided to celebrate together. Sensitive guests will always try to avoid an embarrassing situation for both themselves and the other people. How different the Kingdom of God is! Through our baptism we are placed in the wedding banquet as the special guests and family of the Lord. Around the table of the Lord, no special places are set aside. All are equal in God's sight. We are brothers and sisters together in the wonderful family of faith. We are invited to celebrate together the Lord's presence. -- Reisen
