Ants never get lost. In the wild, they cannot rely on scent trails as they do in a kitchen. With brains having about a million neurons, compared with 50 billion in a human, they can compute their net distance and direction while traveling, and then return directly home. And they also can memorize visual landmarks along the way.
Even though studies have revealed that a majority of men have a better sense of orientation and direction than do most women, most people of both genders get lost at one time or another.
Spiritually, it is worse. The Bible describes us as sheep who have gone astray and lost our way. Our spiritual condition is frequently compared to being lost.
The text warns us against seeking guidance from false philosophies and religions, and directs us to the only true guide, the Holy Scriptures, which lead us to Christ, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
