Americans live life on the run. A cartoon shows the picture of a frustrated young man. Underneath are the words, "God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am so far behind I will never die." The apostle Paul was nearing the end of his ministry as he faced impending execution. Yet even in prison Paul could write to his good friends in Philippi, thanking them for their faithfulness to Christ. All of us need to take time to thank others for their kindness and support for us in times of trial and temptation. In life's bustle and hustle, it behooves each of us to stop and smell the roses. Amidst the turmoil of busy lives we need to pause and listen to God's still, small voice speaking in our hearts. -- Mills
