Agnes Sanford wrote three books about the healing power of prayer and the intention of God to heal people through that power. Indeed, she felt that it was possible even to fend off natural disasters such as earthquakes, storms and floods through intentional prayers. Her books are filled with examples and practical directions on how to pray for healing.

But she had not always been convinced of the power of prayer. As a young mother, she was at her wits' end with one of her children, who as a baby had a severe ear infection, and was screaming for hour after hour with the pain.
