two eggs and a clear glass
I brought two eggs with me today. Eggs are really neat. There's a hard shell on the outside. The shell protects all the stuff that's on the inside and keeps it all in one place. This egg is the kind we eat. Look what happens when the shell breaks. (Break the egg into the glass.) Now the shell doesn't protect the egg white and the yolk and it won't stay fresh as long. The egg needs the shell to keep it safe. If our egg had a baby chick inside, it would definitely need the shell. The baby stays inside the shell while it grows.
