Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Craft foam
Scissors
Aluminum foil
Glue
Markers
Small stickers, sequins, and other decorative materials
Hole punch
Yarn or other decorative string
Pattern of a hand mirror (optional)
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a piece of craft foam and have them draw a hand mirror shape (an oval with a handle). Patterns can be made beforehand.
2. Have the children cut small pieces of aluminum foil in the same oval shape, but slightly smaller than their mirror frames, place it on their mirrors, and glue into place.
3. Have the children use colorful markers to write, "Do to others as you would have them do to you" on the reverse side of their mirrors.
4. Allow the children to decorate their mirrors as they wish.
5. Punch a small hole in the end of each mirror, insert one end of the yarn or string, and tie the ends together.
6. Tell the children to hang their mirrors from their book bags, doorknobs, or other places where they will see them and be reminded of how they should reflect God's love.
