Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Bowl
Spoon
1/3 cup wheat flour
1 Tablespoon salt
2 Tablespoons water
Scissors
3 cups rose petals
Round toothpicks
Thin jewelry wire or other string material
Directions:
1. Have a few children mix the flour, salt, and water in a bowl until it makes a stiff dough.
2. While they are mixing, have some of the other children cut the rose petals into tiny pieces, and then crush them by rolling them between their palms.
3. Slowly, mix as many rose petals as possible into the dough until it is a stiff, but not crumbly texture.
4. Have each child shape a small amount of dough into a bead.
5. Help the children push toothpicks through their beads to make a small hole, then carefully remove the toothpicks.
6. Allow the beads to dry for a few days. Using the jewelry wire or other material, string the beads to make necklaces.
