Compassionate, Caring And Incredible God...
Intercession
Prayers usually include these concerns and may follow this sequence:
The Church of Christ
Creation, human society, the Sovereign and those in authority
The local community
Those who suffer
The communion of saints
These responses may be used:
Lord, in your mercy
Hear our prayer
Lord, hear us.
Lord, graciously hear us.
Compassionate, caring and incredible God, my resources are pathetic. I'm not much good at prayer, or telling people about you, and I never feel very holy. I don't think I'm much use to you. You need deeply spiritual people, people who are on the way to being saints. Incredible God, you say you can use the little I have to offer and turn it into pure gold, but it's really hard to believe that. I can believe it of other people, but not of myself. Compassionate and caring God, get rid of my inverted pride, take my meagre offerings and work a miracle.
Compassionate and caring God, I have so little to offer you, but I ask you take my meagre offerings and work a miracle with them.
Compassionate and caring God, in some places your Church now consists only of the faithful remnant. Where congregations are small and elderly, take the faith of those few people and turn it into something shining and magnificent. May small congregations never lose hope, but keep their eyes fixed on you, knowing that you are the only one with the key to eternal life, and remembering that you can take that which is tiny and multiply it beyond all expectations.
With Christians around the world we pray especially today for your Church in Southern Africa with Archbishop Njongonkulu Ndungane, and your Church in Visby, Sweden, with Bishop Biron Fjarstedt.

Compassionate and caring God, we pray today for all those who are insignificant in the eyes of the world. For tiny countries, for unimportant people, for children, for animals and for all that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. May all little people know that you hear them and will answer them with an overwhelming response. Teach our local, national and international leaders that if the world is to be a good place for all os us, even little people must be considered.

Compassionate and caring God, we pray today for all communities which are so small that they are at risk, and for all species of animals and birds which are at risk of extinction. May small communities discover the truth that by working together with others, they become stronger and are more likely to survive. We thank you for children who are so ready to share what little they have, and praise you that nothing is wasted in your economy.

Compassionate and caring God, may those facing the suffering that the death of a loved one brings, know your presence with them now. Fill them with strength and courage, that they may have the fortitude they will need. Fill their friends with your understanding and compassion, that those who have been bereaved either recently or in previous years at this time may be supported and upheld through their time of grief.
