The Yeast Of The Pharisees And Herod
The Feasts Of The Kingdom
Sermons On Holy Communion And Other Sacred Meals
Mary Frances Fisher, feisty author of several books on food and cooking, was interviewed some time ago in her home in Glen Ellen, California. Many chefs today are more concerned about how food looks than how it tastes, she complained. Known for her forthright opinions, she was asked why she did not write a book on the classic themes of love and war. I like to write on food and drink because "there is a communion of more than our bodies when bread is broken and wine is drunk" (Time, January 27, 1987, p. 67).
