HYMN OF PRAISE
PRAYER
Creator God, whose goodness is evident in all creation. We praise you that you kept your promise that while earth remains, seed time and harvest will not cease. We honor you for the beauty we see around us in earth and sky, tree and flower, bird and animal, and in each other. We give glory to your presence in the care you have provided to us. We celebrate life in all its fullness as the most precious gift you offer us, and we give you our heartfelt thanks for the blessings that each day has brought us. We thank you for the sun and the rain, for food and clothing, for freedom from want and freedom to choose the things of life.
Accept our thanks for all your gifts. Make us mindful of the love they represent. Help us to care for each other and for your world, so that all may be free and may receive the benefits we take for granted. Give us grateful hearts to love and serve you always. Amen.

SERMON
PRAYER
We come with thanksgiving, holy One, for the beauty and wealth of this land we call home. We are blessed with abundant resources of trees and fruit, minerals and grain and all the wealth of nature. The earth has given us bountiful harvests and you have given us the wisdom of our minds to use them for the good of all humanity.
Even when we have plundered the earth, abused your providence and used your blessings for our evil gain, you have been merciful with forgiveness. You have guided us through the rocky paths and steadied our wavering footsteps. On this special day, accept our thanks as we reflect on your love and pause to name the blessings that we have received by your hand.
LITANY OF THANKSGIVING
Leader: For the sun, moon, and stars; for day and night; winter, spring, summer, and fall; and all the seasons of life.
People: We thank you, our God, and pray for greater awareness of the basic gifts of life.
Leader: For trees that give shelter and provide food, for flowers that give beauty and brighten our darkened lives.
People: We thank you, our God, and pray that you will inspire us to care for our world so that all may experience its bounty.
Leader: For animals and birds, for fish and all creatures that dwell on land and sea and roam the skies.
People: We thank you, our God, and pray that you will direct us in our efforts to protect all species of life, that they may continue to flourish for generations to come.
Leader: For humanity, whom you have made a little lower than the angels, and to whom you have given the care of the earth.
People: We thank you, our God, and pray that you will empower us by your grace to live for you and for the good of your creation.
Leader: For friends and family, for loved ones near and far, for our homes, our community, our country, our world, and for the blessing they have been.
People: We thank you, our God, and pray that you will give us a greater appreciation of their meaning in our lives, that we might be willing to preserve and strengthen the ties that bind us each to the other.
Leader: For freedom to worship you as we choose, and the joy of knowing that you care for us all and are with each of us.
People: We thank you, our God, and pray that you will accept our praise and receive all our prayers this day and always. Amen.

THANKSGIVING PRAYER OF DEDICATION
Great God, we give thanks that you have brought us together from joy and sorrow, from difficult days and times of ease, to gather and praise you.
Help us who have freely received your goodness, to accept your call to give to those in need, to care for the sick and afflicted, to welcome the stranger and to serve all creation in your name.
Help us to use our gifts wisely to provide for those in need. Accept these gifts we offer, and accept us, our hands and our hearts, that the gifts of our lives and our service might be used to your glory. In the name of our sovereign God we give thanks and pray. Amen.
