In honesty, Eternal God, we confess that we have doubts about a way of life -- such as you revealed -- that trades good for evil.
* We fear that doing good will encourage people to take advantage of us.
* We fear that doing good might jeopardize our chances of getting ahead.
* We fear that doing good will make us appear silly or naive.
But we also confess that living by the ways of the hateful -- the loser's game -- brings us distress. We are not happy with our hiddenness,
* stubborn arguments,
* ways of "getting even,"
* manipulation, and
