Sixth Sunday After Epiphany
Worship
Lectionary Worship Aids
Series VI, Cycle A
Object:
Theme: Working Together For God
Call To Worship
Leader: It is a good thing to come before the Lord,
People: to submit ourselves before the most high God.
Leader: For God alone can save us, God alone can change us. People: God alone can teach us how to truly live and how to truly love.
Invocation
We come to you, O God, as a company of diverse people. We are young and old, men and women, single and married, achievers and strugglers, believers and doubters. But we come with common purposes: to worship and adore you, to hear your Word, to affirm our faith, to offer our gifts, and to commit ourselves anew to work together for you and your kingdom. Amen.
Confession
O Lord, you have called us to be your disciples, dedicated to your service, presenting ourselves as living sacrifices. We have been unwilling followers who have failed to live up to your expectations. Forgive us, we pray, and enable us to serve you faithfully all our days. Amen.
Offertory Prayer
Forbid, Lord, that as we bring our gifts we should withhold ourselves, for who we are is more basic than what we have. Amen.
Hymns
"O Church Of God, United"
"Blest Be The Tie That Binds"
"Blest Be The Dear Uniting Love"
