Call To Worship
Do you think being a Christian is like joining an organization? Are you ready for the strategy for being Christian? Come, let us start over again and again at the lifelong project of being Christian.
Collect
We praise you, O God, for creating people like Paul of Tarsus who understood that being a Christian exacts a total life change. We hope, O God, to honor this way of life as encompassing all aspects of our relationships with you, with our neighbor, and with ourselves. In the name of Christ. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Thirty-one guidelines from Paul to follow if we choose to be Christian, dear God. That is too much to ask. As with all impossible tasks, help us to make being Christian manageable by concentrating first on one or two guidelines. Help us accept our fallings short by remembering your free "try again" of grace. Amen.

Leader: Jesus said, "For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it."
People: We have come here to be disciples of Christ.
Collect
We have only commenced to understand the cost of discipleship, O God. We have only begun to grasp its joy. Praise be to you, O God of life. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
We begin to sense, O God, that when we stand on holy ground, everything changes. Like Peter who knew he would lose Jesus, the higher the price, the more we also resist. Help us to avoid getting in our own way. For the sake of Jesus. Amen.
