What It Is And Its Different Forms
Parallelism is when one line of poetry (or unit of prose) is followed by another (and sometimes a third) that, through some manner of repetition, has a relationship to the first line. The relationship may simply be a restating of the first line, usually with a subtle but elucidating variation, or the relationship may be more difficult to discern.
