Planning Ideas And Resources For The Entire Church Year
Pastoral Invitation to the Celebration
Consider this:
Simulate the crowd's response to Jesus' coming into Jerusalem. As the choirs and children process with palm leaves, have a group of five or six men, representing Jesus' enemies, standing together plotting his demise; have a second group, representing a few of Jesus' fearful disciples.
For the prayer of praise and adoration, pick up the themes of anger and fear, amidst the adulation of the people.
Have the junior choir respond to the parade with "Alleluia," source unknown, in Folk Encounter.
