How many children like to keep the promises that they make? I think that keeping a promise is the hardest thing about making a promise. I can remember how I used to tell my mother that I would do the dishes every night without a complaint if she would just let me go to this one show, or let me stay up a little longer than my usual bed time. It sure was fun staying up or going to the show, but doing the dishes always seemed like the hard part of the promise. Keeping the promise, or as some people say, sticking to your word, is really hard.
