WHO - ME? DO A PROGRAM? Volume 2
Program Resources For Congregational Events
1. Women Of The Light
We do not walk in the dark as God's people. The light has come into our lives. Join Noah's wife, Sarah, Miriam, Hannah, Abigail, Esther, Gomer, and Mary as they rejoice that they saw the light and God made them "Women of the Light."
An adapted version of this program is entitled "God's Light Shines." It takes six of these women and is written in letter form. It may be used in a newsletter, as a series of daily meditations, or adapted into a shorter version of this program without the order of service.

2. A Mother's Heart: A Celebration Of Women
February is a month to celebrate the gift of love. This program hears from five women: Jochebed, Moses' mother; Zipporah, Moses' wife; Samson's mother; the Shunammite mother; and the wife of Jairus. Each of these women talks of the love she has for her children. A large heart is created with four chambers showing the attributes of each woman. A great valentine idea or it can be adapted to use for Mother's Day.

3. A Journey With Prayer
This Lenten season schedule a special Lenten prayer breakfast. This resource gives you an order of worship and a skit which explores the topic of prayer. As each piece is connected to the other, participants get a better understanding of the mystery of prayer.
4. A Lenten Holy Week Journey
A leader guides six readers who reflect on Holy Week. The program begins with Palm Sunday and ends with Easter. The six readers help participants to walk with our Lord during his final week on earth. The program may be adapted and used in a mid--week Lenten service.

5. No Fooling! A Look At The Month Of April
April is not just a month to celebrate April Fool's Day or pay taxes! This month is filled with many pagan and religious observations. The church recognizes many of these feast days such as the Feast of Noah, the martyrdom of Prince Hermenegild, and the Feast of Saint George, the patron saint of England. Some lighter festivals that have been celebrated by people over the years will make you laugh. Create a calendar as readers describe the event of the day. An opening devotion and prayer begin the program. A great dose of fun for all April fools!

6. God's Flower Garden
Greta Gardener is busy this spring looking into her flower garden. There she discovers Dandy Lion, Pansy, Cora Cactus, Gladys Gladiola, Daffy the Daffodil, and Susie Sunflower. This resource can stand alone as a short program or be an introductory skit to "Bloom Where You're Planted." A great program for a women's Mother/Daughter or Spring Banquet.
7. Bloom Where You're Planted
This unique approach to the book of Ruth uses many props as it looks at the women found there: Orpah, Naomi, and Ruth. Fabric flowers or real can be used to decorate and give away. The focus is found in Matthew 13, a description of seeds and soil. The program challenges participants to bloom in the soil they find themselves planted in.

8. God's Pentecost Pantry
Planning a Pentecost breakfast? Invite the neighboring churches and create a warm atmosphere of fellowship and inspiration. Join our narrator as she interacts with a waitress and Alice, our restaurant owner. A menu may be displayed with all the Lord has to offer those attending that day. Decorate in red and white for a celebration of the Pentecost season and feast on the Word of God.

9. This Year's Most Distinguished Water Person Contest
Summer is a time to enjoy the water. This resource looks at biblical characters who have had an association with this element. The contest involves Miriam, Moses, Big Fish, Deer, John the Baptist, and an unbiblical character, Sauna Lady. Have enough crowns for each character - a sure winner!

10. Celebrating God's Gift Of Hope
This program may be done by one person or thirteen. The focus is on the story of Noah and the rainbow. As the program progresses a rainbow of color is created. Each color is explained in a reflection as God's hope is celebrated for us as Christians.

11. Hats Off To Jesus!
A great program to kick off the fall event. Invite participants to wear hats, decorate with hats, and make hat momentoes or prayer favors. Songs are included. Reflections on hats tie in biblical messages with today's illustrations. As readers complete their portion of the program, they hang their hat on a hat tree. Truly, a tip of the hat to our Lord!

12. Dem Bones
October finds lots of skeletons decorating shops and hanging on doors. But this resource looks at the dry bones of Ezekiel and the bones of an organization. The leader begins with a skeleton and then adds parts through the Word. Flesh and blood finally bring life to the body as God's Spirit breathes life into it. A mixer on bones is included.
