Easter 6
Worship
Lectionary Worship Workbook
Series III, Cycle A
Object:
Call To Confession
Rather than reading the Acts text at its appointed place, use it here as a Call To Confession/Repentance. It can be followed with a time of silence and the following absolution:
P: Risen from the dead, risen to new life,
Christ Jesus calls you to live in him.
May his goodness resound in your voices
and may your lives be lived in praise.
In him you are a new creation.
In his name you are granted forgiveness.
In him you will live forever.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, +
and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.
Prayer Of The Day
P: Gracious Father, open our hearts to hear your word, open our hearts to live your commands, that we would know you in the revealing of your great love, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
C: Amen.
Intercessory Prayers
Use Psalm 66:16-19 as the introduction to today's prayers.
Offertory Prayer
A: God of the aged, God of the infant,
C: your promise sustains us each day. Baptized into your life we pledge now our lives in obedience, in confidence, and in love as we lift before you the gifts by which you make us new, through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. Amen.
Eucharistic Prayer
P: Praise to you, God of the creation.
Praise to you, God of the ancestors.
Praise to you, God of the exiles.
C: Praise to you, God of the cities.
Praise to you, God of the suburbs.
Praise to you, God of the farmlands.
P: Praise to you, God of the prophets.
Praise to you, God of the nations.
C: Praise to you, God of the mountains.
Praise to you, God of the coastlands.
P: Praise to you, God of this time and place.
Praise to you, that in the faith of Jesus
you make yourself known.
In the night in which he was betrayed,
our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks,
broke it and gave it to his disciples to eat, saying:
"Take and eat. This is my body given for you.
Do this for the remembrance of me."
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks,
and gave it to all to drink, saying:
"Take and drink. This cup is the new covenant in my blood
poured out for you and for all people
for the forgiveness of sin.
Do this for the remembrance of me."
For as often as we eat this bread and drink this cup
we proclaim our Lord's death until he comes again.
P: Praise to you, holy Father.
C: Praise to you, Lord Jesus.
P: Praise to you, blessed Spirit.
C: Come upon us now, that these gifts would reveal to us
the truth of your never-ending love.
P: Praise to you who makes all things new.
C: Praise to you whose praise shall know no end. Amen.
Benediction
P: Risen, risen, risen,
the Lord will be with you in all things.
C: Amen.

Introduce a new hymn text today as a responsive reading. Have it prayed/spoken antiphonally now, and then sing it next week. Having prayed the text as text, it may give them a new experience of the hymn when it is sung.
